Tea Tree oil comes from the Melaleuca alternifolia tree, which is native to Australia. It has a distinct and pure aroma.
In 1923, Dr. A.R. Penfold discovered Tea Tree oil was 13 times stronger as an antiseptic bacteriacide than carbolic acid, considered the universal standard in the early 1900’s. It left the surface of the wounds clean and without apparent irritation to the surrounding healthy tissues. Tea Tree Oil is very effective in the presence of pus and it does not harm healthy tissue. Instead, it promotes the growth and repair of healthy tissue, which lessens the chance of scarring.
According to researchers at the Department of Research, Lombard, USA, Tea Tree Oil works by activating white blood cells, the body’s first line of defense.

Tea Tree Oil must never be used near the eyes, inner nose, or on any other particularly sensitive areas of skin. Once applied topically, sun exposure must be avoided, as the oil can sensitize the skin to UV rays. If Tea Tree Essential Oil is combined with Lavender Essential Oil, the topical application of this blend might potentially be unsafe for pre-pubescent boys, due to the potential of these oils to disrupt hormones in the male body.
